02 August 2007: This website has been set up by The Dachshund Club of Queensland to keep all dachshund owners informed of all arrangements as they come to hand regarding the 9th National Dachchund Specialty Show.:

2 August 2007: The Dachshund Club of Queensland was notified today by the ANKC via the CCCQ that it had been granted approval to conduct the 9th National Dachshund Specialty Show on 8/9 August 2009.
   These two dates are at the beginning of the 2009 Brisbane Royal National Agricultural Show and the Club is now awaiting notification by the RNA of the dates set down for judging of dachshunds at the “Royal”.
   The Club has applied to the RNA to consider allocating either the Tuesday (11th) or Wednesday (12th) on which to judge the dachshunds and is hopeful of being granted this request.

13 August 2007: Verbal notification received yesterday from the RNA that dachshunds would be judged at the Brisbane Royal in 2009 on Tuesday 11th, two days after the National.

1 March 2008: Confirmation has been received from the CCCQ that the ANKC has approved the appointment of Mr G. McFaul of Northern Ireland as the Judge for the 2009 national Dachshund Speicalty show

5 May 2008: For up to date information regarding accommodation/caravans/campers for the 2009 National contact the Chairman of the relevant sub-committee Val Bowden on (07) 3800 1127. Val will also be able to provide information regarding the availability of crates and/or trolleys for use by visitors to Brisbane.
